Research Visit to the National Railway Museum in York

The National Railway Museum (NRM) is a museum in York forming part of the British Science Museum Group of National Museums and telling the story of rail transport in Britain and its impact on society.

I visited the NRM in order to research lesson ideas in which I can incorporate into design technology and engineering for the new school term. I gained a wonderful insight into railway design technology and engineering and how it has developed from the days of steam, then diesel and the high speed electric we now have crossing countries.
