Design Technology Resources: Introduction to Biomimicry

Standard

Lesson to introduce students to Biomimicry. The design and production of materials, structures, and systems that are modelled on biological entities and processes.

Aims and objectives:

  • To investigate ‘Biomimicry’ in relation to the design of products.
  • To analyse how the shape and design of nature is implemented into the design of products.
  • To create a design of a furniture (table or chair) based on ‘Biomimicry’.
